This site is dedicated to the older
person taking day-hikes for fitness.

Day-hiking is an excellent way to stay healthy and recover from a lifetime of work in an office.  It is both
more difficult and more rewarding than mall-walking.

It is important to remember that during a day-hike, we frequently leave our habitat and enter the habitat
of others. In my case, I commune with cows, hawks, jack rabbits and the ever-present (almost
never-seen) mountain lion as well as others including ticks.

While the ticks may not be my favorite companions, the others certainly are enjoyable.  I am hoping to
spy some of the rarer occupants including the kit fox.

I will post pictures to show the more impressive views which serve as my motivation. - This view is of
Mount Diablo which hosts my favorite hiking grounds.
